Default my zj eats tcases

my 94 zj 5.2l eats tcases. ive replaced the stock np249 a couple times now and have read about swapping a np231/242. my only question is if you have to swap the nose of the 249 into the 231/242 or you just need a new length of a driveshaft. also would using a front driveshaft out of a 4.0l work? if anyone can clear this up for me i would be most appreciative. getting tired of the grinding the viscous coupler makes!

Have you figured out what's causing it first? Idk much about that tcase but is it full time? Do you have the same size tires on all four corners.

I would do the 231 swap. It's a stronger unit with more aftermarket support.

I swapped in a 231 and a 4:1 kit, best thing I ever did. You need to swap the input shaft because v8s have the long one unlike any others. I was able to reuse both driveshafts
