need help fast ! no brake light question.......

It was the contacts in the socket that had melted into the socket from the heat. Pry it up with a small screw driver and fold some aluminum foil and place it under the contact tab that way it will not lower into the socket and the proper contact with the bulb will be made. About 5 minutes of time and no cost to you.

Old fart with a wrench
Be aware whatever melted that socket hasn't been fixed. It could have happened if someone sat for a REALLY, REALLY long time with their foot on the brake. Check the other side.
