Need help with Kenwood KVT-719 Install
Ok, so I had the kenwood system with navigation in a nissan, and It worked great, easy to work on all that, I pulled out the radio, hardrive, brain, and harness out of the nissan to put in a 99 WJ, I have ran the wires, conected the kennwood radio to all of it's components, then I connected the white and red wire from the WJ harness, to the red wire from my kenwood unit, and grounded the whole thing, it doesn't turn on, at all, I'm trying to find the yellow wire on the WJ, but I can't find it, is there another wire that goes to the battery, right next to the white and red one, there is a red and white one, is that it?
Any help woold be appreciated.

Thanks, but that's what I've been using, but It doesn't show where to connect the yellow battery wire, what I don't understand is, why It has 2 red and white cables labeled fuse, and fuse+. I still need clarification on this.

He knows which wires are speaker wires. He was concerned about the two hot wires, which we've taken care of. But that's a good general tip for wiring.

I do have a multimeter, this is the way I was thinking of doing it, run the Kenwood harness, to the WJ's harness, into the Infinity Amp and from the amp to the speakers, everything after the amp will be stock.

OK so you have an amp in the system well you can either bypass it or use it. the best idea is to pull the drivers seat and you will have access to the amp for reference and blues wiring diagram will help out as well. i would bypass the amp though it will sound better plus the amp is a few years old so you never know how long it will hold up. but either way just check you wires before firing it up and make sure the connectors are good so you dont have to chase down a wire later. sorry i did this for many years so i have my own ways of doing stuff so do it how ever you want. but let us know what happens

Ok, got it done on Sunday, used the amp and everything. I have a few questions though.
Since I bought the WJ, the steering wheel radio controls never worked, anyone have any idea why?
And this is way off topic, but, when I put the WJ in D from park, it makes some clicking noises, it drives great though, what are these clicking noises.

Are the noises kind of a ratcheting sound? If so mine does it too.

you may need an adapter to make the steering wheel controls work with your new radio but not all will work has it had a aftermarket radio since you bought the jeep if so that is why it has not worked.
