Default New brake pad won't fit into new caliper

I've been working on the rear brakes on my 2002 WJ and I've run into a glitch. The driver side went fine, but the passenger side is being argumentative. The outer (non caliper side) brake bad won't seat properly in the caliper. It's as if it's a bit too big.

I think I'm going to have to take the caliper and pads into NAPA and have them replace the pads, or show me what I'm doing wrong.

The driver's side was a bit tight, but it went in. The passenger side looks like it's maybe a full sixteenth too big.

Anybody run into this? Any suggestions?

This turned out to be a defective caliper. I tried everything but grinding the caliper, and this morning had a wild idea. I took the old pad from the old caliper and tried it on the new caliper. No go. Then I took the new pad on the old caliper, and it dropped right in.

NAPA did a straight swap. All bettah now! Nice to have a working parking brake again.

Gotta love NAPA for their arrogant attitudes, slow phone and counter service, difficult must have receipt return policies, and ridiculously high priced defective Chinese parts.

Other than that, they're a great place to buy parts.

I never use Napa. Prices are too high.
