okay time out, first you need to know if its a 4.0 or a 5.2, they have diffrent axles as mentioned above, the 4.0 ZJ uses the d35, the 5.2 ZJ uses the 44a. the a stands for aluminum, which means a d44 and a d44a are diffrent axles, you can only use zj axles (93-98) if you want a simple bolt on swap, 99-04 is the WJ which uses an A arm and will not work on ZJ's without modification. hope this helps, let us know which engine it has, its a simple swap either way as long as you grab the right axle from the junk yard.

Ok it is a 4.0 not sure if I mentioned that.anyway I found a 97 35 close to me for 100 that's in good working order.only thing it's a 3.55 and the truck I'm buying may be a 3.73,saw tow hitch in rear. Asked the kid to check for tranny cooler but hasn't got back to me.

You'll also need to match the rear gear ratio to the gear ratio you have in the front.

take the vin # of the jeep you purchased and look up if it came with the factory tow pacage, the ones with the towing package from the factory have 3.73 gears the rest will have 3.55 gears.

I was going by the fact that there was no tranny cooler on it

The aux trans cooler is in front of the A/C condensor in front or the radiator. You can see it thru the grill.

FYI, both my '94 GC's have rear disk brakes.

That is a good buy however you look at it and with that mileage on a 4.0 which usually with a little bit care is good for a quarter of a million miles easy.

I would buy it for sure and I don't need it but the wife would and give the Town Car a break and my Grand Cherokee a break which she drives all the time. This is after she said didn't like Jeeps now I can't keep her out of it. The Lincoln sits in the garage most of the time and she told me the other day to drive my XJ 230mi round trip to buy some parts.
