I have the same errors, washer sensor bad and rear lamp failure. Switched the sensor three times. In my case, I think my mini computer went bad. My HIDS might be screwing with voltage and everything too.

Old fart with a wrench
It's not just jeeps! Any vehicle today has so much integrated electronics in it that you need to be a technicion to keep up! I will admit that's how they get 150 hp and 40 mpg out of a 2 liter, but the other systems should be in the driver's control, not a computer! Today's cars will send you a text message when they need an oil change! What happens when they get to the point when they won't start because you haven't done that?
Just the ramblings of an old mechanic, sorry...
If I drive around with my windshield washer empty, I feel I should be able to do that without my car screaming at me!

I agree. My washer sensor being bad isn't really important. If I start running low on coolant though, I wanna know that.

Lol... From what I have read and been told, the coolant sensor that causes the VIC to scream is located in the reservoir and not on the thermostat. Mine is full, and I check it daily because of paranoia. Lmao I have so much invested I am afraid of causing mores damage... Heard that resoldering the connections on the VIC will fix the problem 95% of the time.

Both bottles are full??? You mean both the washer and radiator reservoirs, or do you have 2 rad reservoirs??
I check my fluids daily before I take off in the thing, I got a couple tranny leaks so checking has become second nature... LOL

Ah, I saw yours on craigslist the other day lol. Depends on what you want. I won't get another XJ, not enough power, just seemed cheaply made. And I had a Laredo too, not a sport.

Lol...
So yours was the upper model. This is a sport, with a lot less mileage and lifted. I really have not decided yet, like I said, torn.
A lot of people have told me the XJ's make better trail rigs, and I have seen quite a few in the area, but I would think the 5.2l would be better in the long run. Them again, I have seen some ZJ's with the 4.0 turning 35's... I would think that that motor would be working real hard to turn those big tires.

Yeah, in 1990 I believe the Laredo was the top model. I really like my ZJ on the trails but I also have heavy duty bumpers front and rear, the 8" lift, a rear locker and long arms, so its pretty far from stock. I wouldn't want to run 35s with the 4.0 but I have seen it too.
