New Jeeps.
If you were to buy a new 2013 Jeep to use off-road, what would be you choice? Which is the best REAL trail rated unit out there? Opinions, please.

Definitely a Rubicon, and definitely NOT a new GC. The concept for the Stitch also looks nice, but I'm sure it'll cost a fortune.

I figured it'd be a Rubi. Not much else. You might as well take the badges off the GC, it's not a jeep anymore.

If it was purely for offroad, I think clearly the JKUR is the best choice. If it had to pull double duty as WW/DD? My choice would the GC Trailhawk. I have never driven one, but everything I found says they are extremely capable offroad. Plus, they are really sexy. My wife might even support the decision if I bought it in white. Shoot, I might even rock a KL Cherokee Trailhawk for double duty if I had to buy new.

What do you guys think of something like this?

If it was more than a concept would you consider it?

That's nice, but would you consider driving one in -5* winter weather? I've driven a CJ5 with canvas side curtains in heavy snow and I wasn't a happy camper.
The GC Trailhawk is totally out of my price range. Then again, anything new is.
I think I got my answer.

I most certainly would not. At least not in New York. If I was back in Texas I'd think about it. I can deal with no A/C.

That's why it's a CONCEPT vehicle! They want to see if there's a big enough market to build it.

I'm thinking the base model JKU at around 23k. Manual transmission, maybe no AC even. Hard top would be nice. I'm thinking of buying one as a commuter and light wheeler, then delegating my ZJ as the off road hauler rig.
