Default newbie in need of help

i have a 2003 grand cherokee 4.7L with a 4" lift in it
i recently took it in to get the death wobble fixed the mechanic that work on it put new track bar, new control arms in it and check all the other components ... the wobble is still there they told me it is not fixable and i should look into buying a steering box bracket does any one have any idea where i could find such a thing online for my model of wj?

First of all, welcome to CF!
I've never heard of a driveshaft brace and wouldn't know how to install one, but there seems to be a problem with the WJ's steering box mounting when lifted. There are cases where the frame has cracked or bolts have broken. This is due to the thinning of the frame metal to lighten the model. As you can see from my signature, I own a 2000 WJ with 177K miles on it. It is not lifted but I thought about a 2" BB just for snow pack clearance. I decided not to because of all the problems people have had with lifts on this model. I use my jeep in my business and can't have it giving me problems. I deliver newspapers most of the time before the plows come out to play.

There may be some kind of a brace for the steering box, but IDK where to get one. You might try jeep4x4center.com and I will check after posting this. The problem with the driveshaft, probably the front one, is the CV coupling on the forward end. Many people have replaced it with a single u-joint on that end and a slip joint in the center like the older models.

The steering can be modified with a dropped pitman arm, but that only adds torque to an already bad problem of weak mounting.

Okay, after checking the site and going thru the Rough Country product's list of parts, I see they have a drop bracket for the track bar that has a unit-body brace. This and a dropped pitman arm might solve your problem. This is included in their 4" lift kit.

you can also try swapping tires to see if it goes away. borrowing some rather than buying at first, of course.

Default Steering box brace

I've made my own sbox brace.. 6" metal tube cut in half 6" long. Rubber conveyor belt piece between sbox and 1/2 pipe . Inch and a half round tube welder to half pipe. Other end has a ball joint threaded into pipe which bolts into a bracket welded to 3/16 plate bolted to frame rail. Adjustable and re movable for maintenance and repairs .
