Just think about the logistics of this. Ship defective cores to a foreign country, repair them, then ship them back and sell them cheaper than American companies can! What is wrong with this scenario? How long would you expect them to last?

I'm dating myself, but I remember when you could get rebuild kits for everything and do it yourself! Water pumps, fuel pumps, carbs, distributors, alternators, generators, starters, etc and you didn't have to look far for them. Then the parts houses decided they were loosing money and stopped supplying rebuild kits.

There used to be a really good parts store called National Auto near me but it was about 20 miles away. I jokingly said "Why don't you open a store in Manlius?" They said, "Manlius? Nobody works on their own cars in Manlius! 3 stores have already gone out of business in that town!" I said, "You're looking at one!"

If it makes you feel better, Dave, I just bought a rebuild kit for my wheel cylinder. $5.83. Beats the $22 + tax at the store for a "reman".

I guess we will never know. jpck2004 hasn't gotten back to tell us the rest of the story.
