OBD ii P0117 Need help!
i have an 04 jeep grand cherokee special edition with the 4.0l in it. ok so i was having issues with my jeeps dash temp gauge reading that it was overheating but engine temp was fine i retrieved a code of P0117 which said it was the ECT sensor.. so i replaced that and unhooked the battery to erase the code it seemed to run fine after that but not even a day later it started doing the same thing... now sometimes when i go to start it it wont turn over right away so i have to try it 2 or 3 times before it finally starts.. im not sure where to go from here any help would be greatly appreciated.

What makes u think the engine temp is fine? You know that if it is overheated bad enough, it will set that code? Actually I seen numerous cryslers with that code right after a major overheat. I really hope you havent been ignoring that tempature gauge "assuming" it was wrong.

I'm not 100% sure that the temp gauge is right or wrong but I figure that the engine temp is fine since it sometimes spikes to the "overheating" temp immeadiatly on a cold start up. It has also happened when driving but temp gauge goes back to normal after a few seconds and I pull over when this happens when driving and engine does not seem any warmer nor does the heat when I turn it on.
