I'm gearing up for the rear main seal on the WJ Im sure its been asked a million times before but I have some conflicting information not only about the torque, but the size of fasteners on the Oil pan for the 4.0. I've read that the bolt size is 11m and 1/2inch someone els said 1/4 and 5/16th, and someone even said that they used 19mm but I know there is no way that one was true. As for the Torque 7ft lb for the smaller and 11 for the larger? or 10 ft lb for the smaller and 13 for the bigger? at such a low torque dose it even matter? as long as its not going to vibrate out and it not crack the block or should I be **** about it? Can someone help put me straight? Youtube aint' helping either, because they either skip taking the pan off or they don't explain what they are doing... well its obvious that they are taking bolts out.

Torque for an oil pan? Wrist tight. Done. Don't make it complicated.

As to the size, I don't recall exactly, but it's something like 11mm. The 1/4" and 5/16" numbers are as ridiculous as the 19mm number.
