Default oil engine light coming on

I have mentioned before that the oil pressure gauge was going down to 0. I meant to say it is going down to L which is low. It has done it several times lately and usually it happens every once in a while. I have had so much trouble with this jeep and have put so much money in it that it is driving me crazy. I will try the teflon tape to see if that works first. I hope it does because that is a cheap way and I sure hope it works. Are jeeps known to have so many problems? When I bought it the guy said it had a new motor and only had 5000 miles on it. It still registers 165000 and it is a 2004. how can I really tell it is a new motor. I am getting ready to sell it because I can't afford to keep repairing it but I don't want to mislead anyone either. I know I have put about $1500.00 in the past 6 months into this jeep. Can't afford to keep doing that! I don't want to pass on something to someone without fixing the problems and not sure they would want to buy it with what all I have done to it. I have so many receipts that it might scare them into buying it.

the teflon tape is to seal the threads so they don't leak oil. putting it on will do nothing for your oil pressure problem. the problem is either the sender or the pressure is actually that low. if you want to try something, try a new oil pressure sender. if nothing changes, then you need to verify actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.

sorry if we were misunderstood i was saying you buy a new sensor and when you put the new one in you just have to put teflon taped on the threads once again sorry for the misunderstanding

Thanks for clarifying because I would have just put Teflon on it. Okay I will buy the new sensor and then put Teflon on it. Well not me but my bf can do it. Thanks so much for your answers.
