Default One wheel spinning

I have a 95 grand cherokee limited and I recently got stuck in the snow which never happens then I realized only my rear passenger wheel was spinning. Anyone know about this????

Ummm...is it 4wd? Try pulling on that lever back to where it says 4lo. Just playing. But seriously, a little more info please.

Edit: are the limited edition 4wd? I don't know much about GC's

Well, it is very simple, you have open differentials. Obviosly you don;t know about these amazing creatures. When you drive your car around a corner the outer wheel turns considerably faster than the inner wheel. In order to deal with this problem they made it possible for one wheel to turn faster with gears inside your diff. The inherent problem with these is when there is unequal traction the differential will send all power to the wheel with no traction. If you have one tire on ice and one on dirt, the tire on ice will spin. Or if one wheel is in the air while wheeling it will spin and not the wheel on the ground with traction. If you read more in CF you will hear a lot of talk about Lockers. A locker does just what it sounds like, locks the axles together. When engaged the locker causes both tires to spin at the same time no matter how traction is distributed. Lockers give you amazing traction off road. If your axle was locked in your situation both tires would have been spinning in the snow.

My guess is you didn't have it in 4wd at the time...
You have an open differential (cheaper factory option than limited slip)
You only have one drive wheel in the rear, thus the reason why you had a "one wheel peel".

Perfect example of needing to search. Not even going to answer this one.

I don't know you personally and I don't wan you to think I a jerk, but if that were the case then there pretty much shouldn't be any more new post here then. Pretty much everything has been covered here. So this has turned into a search engine, not a forum.

I dont mind answering questions that have been answered before, thats why its a forum and not a search engine but not understanding what a diff is? C'mon.

If someone posted "Where do I put my key?" you'd do the same thing, and I consider this along the same lines.

Fair enough friend. I guess I didn't see it that way but now that you mention it I would have to agree with you.
