overfilled 44RE Trans - complications??
1997 5.2L Grand Cherokee Laredo 188,000 miles on this 44RE Trans. It slips occasionally when cold. Things done by a professional are a filter change and refill plus conditioners done twice; 2nd time about two years ago and the 1st about 4 years ago.
I decided to check the fluid myself yesterday and found it overfull about one-half inch on the dipstick. It also appeared to be a bit foamy. The color is what I would call "not too bad."
Do I need to drain some off? Is overfull a cause of the foam? Is overfull a cause of slipping?
Thanks.
