well I have heat but its still doing the blowing out the defrost when i hit the gas then when i let off its comin out the vents..it also seems to be hotter on the floor than anything

well at least you now you have heat. Is everything getting hot? I mean like before when the engine was hot and not the radiator. Just checking to see if you have full circulation.

Yeah the water pump pulley should not be hard to turn.

ok just went on my first long drive with it...i'm about to change out the thermostat again...when i sit idle the truck gets hot and i have great heat as soon as i start to take off my heat starts to get cold..this happened in another car of mine so i think i got a bad thermostat....now when i jump on the gas it will quit blowing from the vents and shoot out the defrost till i idle back down....not sure what thats about..but i have heat

Still think you have a vacuum leak somewhere along the system. There is no other reason for the heat to change direction like that.

Agree on the vacumn diag. Also check your fan clutch while your under there-you should be able to grab the fan and turn it with the engine off with slight drag. If not its locked up and could be pulling excessive airflow across the radiator when the RPMs are up.

Anyone wanna tell me about this vac stuff...should i be able to blow air threw these hoses? the one hose that's for cruise and heater should i be able to push air in to it and it go threw freely or not at all?

Yes you should. What I like to do is feel for vacuum with the engine running. I have not had a chance to look at mine to see what you have exactly but the cruise actuator will have vaccum at all times. If I remember right (it could be one of the other gilzillion vehicles I work on) the selector **** on the dash is what directs the vacuum to the flap selected-one of the lines running into it should have vaccum with the engine running. Sometimes if someone has had the dash apart it may not be on tight. If I remember wrong then find the vacuum line that runs inside and make that sure that has vaccum. Most typically the problem is under hood where it gets exposed to heat and the elements.

So I'm at the point now where im going to post this damn thing for sale!!! looking at this site i seen this is a problem alot with these trucks and no1 ever seems to get it fixed from what i can see

What climate control system do you have? Is it electronic pushbutton or rotary ****? If you have electronic pushbuttons there is no vaccum supplied-they used electric servo motors to move the blend doors and do fail occasionally. Sometimes the the splines to the blend door strip out. Depending on whats failed dash removal may be needed.

yea its the **** kind...not elc...im thinking at this point im going to have to do the dash...also i have noticed the last few days when i hit the gas just sitting there it sounds like water going thru my dash board like by the floor in the area of the heater core...but the core is not leaking out on to the floor or ground..so hell idk

I would take your control panel off and do a look see. At this point you might want to get a vaccum pump ( I would recomend look at sears or local parts store for a Mighty Vac-a hand vaccum pump and gauge built together-they make two versions, one from plastic, one from metal-plastic being quite reasonably priced) and see if the vaccum line that runs into the dash can hold vaccum-it should hold it for a good while at the least.

The gurgling sounds might indacate you might have an air pocket as well.

In my opinion that gurgling sound is water/coolant in the HVAC box that could have come from the heater core if it froze and developed a leak. I'd take the Jeep to an auto parts store and have them do a cooling system pressure test to check for leaks in the system. It shouldn't cost anything.

there is a complex vacuum system behind *****. never try to disassemble vacuum directing **** which is used to direct blown air. there are springs and steel ***** and a plate inside. if you lose one of them you cant fix it. then you will need a new control panel or alternative DIY approach to operate everything. can there be a vacuum leak on vacuum canister?
