96’ GC 4.0

Will start and kill itself then get no spark and not start at all or just will crank and not start at all.

Replaced In Last 2 Weeks
Ignition Coil
Battery
Spark Plugs
Plug Wires
Distributor Cap
Distributor Rotor
Distributor Cam Ring sensor
Crank Sensor
Idle Air Control Valve
“New” remanufactures PCM

Fuel sending unit / pump / filter

Regrounded neg for battery

Something is shutting it off electronically, when she starts she runs good but it’s like a switch something is killing it then after it will have no spark when I pull a plug to test and won’t start back up will just crank.

Been checking grounds and trying to figure out the problem for 3 weeks now.
She’s my daily driver and use to tow my boat also and haul kayaks been getting to work on my motorcycle but so frustrated I can’t figure this out.

 

when you find out, let me know. My 93 does same thing and I've pretty much replaced everything you have, with the exception of PCM that I just ordered and am waiting for.
I was really hoping that the problem was with the PCM, but after reading your post, it isn't looking good for me. Yikes! If I get mine running before I read that you get yours running, I'll let you know what my heeps problem was! Good luck!

 

How long does it run for before it turns off?

 

I would say your security system is shutting it down. The alarm is probably set without you knowing it. My 97 had that problem and since the horns were burnt out, the only way of knowing it was set was by the blinking red LED on top of the dash. All I did was unlock the door with the key which turned it off.

 

It was intermitten would be a couple minutes could get it to drive then would cut out or I would start it it would cut out 30 seconds later now it won’t start at all not even getting spark at the coil. Just disabled the alarm today didn’t fix it

I tried to do the under load break in and it didn’t seem to have any power. It also takes like 4 tries to start. Replaced the the therottle position sensor with no sucess
