Portable Universal Jump Starter
Hi,
Will a 500A Peak 10,800mAh Portable Universal Jump Starter work for my 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo? If not, what A Peak and mAh would I need?
Unfortunately, I don’t know much about vehicles, but have found myself calling for help due to low battery issues more than a few times. I’m assuming I left my lights on or didn’t close the trunk/door all the way. Searching info about my VIN I the Cold Cranking Amps @ 0° F (Primary) is 700 and I have a V6 Cylinder Engine.
Here is the item I am looking at
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
It is likely that the existing car battery has reached the end of the service life. One method to determine the end of life is the battery capacity at less than 50% of the nameplate rating. For example, if the battery is rated at 100Ah and the measured capacity is less than 50Ah when discharged at the 20 hour rate then the battery should be replaced. There are also handheld multimeter style testers that give an immediate go/no go determination of the battery health.
IMO, the linked jump start pack looks like a toy. The 1.08Ah battery may provide ONE quick boost for starting, before saying "I'm done".
Get and properly use a real battery charger, like this Schumacher SE-4022. It will permit rapid starting at-home, using an extension cord.
If the issue is leaving on the lights, or not closing the door, then stop doing that...

We now take a full sized 80 watt solar panel out with us when we are out in the sticks. Sometimes we go out 40 miles off any main roads and the panel has saved our rear several times now. Having a low battery out that far with no cell service can mess up your day.
