Default Radiator hose replacement help! 98 ZJ

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 with a lower radiator hose leak. I removed the lower end of the hose with ease, but the clamp screw on the upper end, towards the water pump, may be stripped but I can’t be certain. It may be my angle of the screw driver into the screw itself, but I don’t think so. I still have the fan/fan clutch attached. Any help on the removal of this clamp/hose would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum,

Why not try a nut driver instead of a screwdriver to loosen that clamp worm screw?

do you think the end of the driver would fit onto the screw head?

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, a screw hose clamp has a center slot and an external hex, as-shown

What this guy said, another alternative is to buy a new hose clamp and cut the old one off. Hose claps are cheap, not to mention that they are also really simple, unless its a pinch style they can use screw drivers or nut drivers, use the nut driver its no hassle.
