Rear hatch latch adjustment?
Having problems with the rear latch. I know it needs adjusted. When I pulled the panel off I see the bar that has screw like threads on it. How do you disconnect that rod to move the arm down. Do you have to remove it from the catch to screw it down? Or is there another easier way to do it?

Old fart with a wrench
IDK either. 38 other people don't seem to know either or didn't bother to say so. I thought it rude to view it and not say something.
By the way, welcome to CF.

There's a great write up on the interior release and, for the life of me, I can't track it down. Mine's been in for a few years, no issues. Essentially just a wire that's attached to the actuating arm for the latch, ran up through a rubber grommet and hole drilled in panel, then secured around a key ring. I made sure mine had no slack. I don't know what's different on Grand Cherokee.. google it, bet it's there.
Anyhow, good luck. Fix it before your hatch is stuck. I had a buddy who had to cut through his panel. And, of course, welcome to CF.
