I recently purchased a 2005 grand cherokee limited with the 5.7. At times it runs fine, other times I get the red lightning bolt on the dash, it will run very rough and the gas pedal is usually unresponsive. I have a p2100 code.. The throttle body was replaced with an oem one and relearned. When it's normal it runs great.
From what I have read, the usual causes are throttle body, wiring between the everything, gas pedal or pcm. I think the throttle body rules out the tps sensors? The gas pedal has 2 APP sensors that I have tried to test with a icarsoft cr pro diagnostic tool, when pressing the gas pedal one of the sensors randomly drops to 0.0 throughout the throttle range. I'm going to try and attach a video showing this. My question is I believe this narrows my problem down to the gas pedal assembly which includes the sensors or just replace the sensors themselves? youtu.be/v9M1bVfUF5g
