Relocate the temperatur sender (gauge)
Hi, i want to relocate my temperatur sender, on my 93 4.0L the sender is in the back, but i want to move it to the hose that goes into the heater. But then i need some T that i could mount the sender in and the hoses, but i can only find some that fits the radiator hose, any clue where i could get some smaller one that fits the hose to the heater. Another solutions it to mount the sender in the thermostate housing, but is it possible to buy a housing that have room for the sender?

I have a problem with the gauge show to high temperature, so i will try to add a new sensor and gauge. Since im sure my gauge and sensor is correct i will try another one in another place.

As far as I am aware, all American 4.0's have the temp sensor in the thermostat housing. Have you checked your actual temperature with a contact temp sensor, such as a thermistor?
You can use a 1/2" copper pipe T with 1/2" pipe threads in the T section. The 1/2 copper pipe is actually 5/8 OD. The sensor plug end may restrict flow thru the heater, however.

93 has a temp sender for the gauge on the cylinder head towards the rear on the left side and the temp sensor for the PCM on the t-stat housing. I think 97 and newer use only one sensor for both the gauge and PCM.

Right, Busted. My 97 ZJ only had the single one in the thermo housing. My book talked about the one in the head, but I never found it.

A complete chart of resistance values for the coolant and air temp sensors can be found on page 6-15 of the Haynes repair manual for Jeep Grand Cherokee 93-2004. I have it open in front of me. What temp do you want? For instance, at 210*, the value should be 640 to 720 ohms. At 70*, it should be 11,370 to 13,610.

I have the Haynes, but that is for the sensor and not the sender. I need the chart for the sender, its not any place in Haynes or any place in the service manual. I cant remember where i have seen it, but i think it was in a online manual somewhere.
If i use a IR and read 50 celsius on front and back, then the sensor is 2.3Kohm and the sender is 700ohm, if i then turn the ingnition the gauge shows around 45. So there must be two different charts for sensor and sender.

After 10 min driving and the thermostate has opened i turn of engine and maybe 45sec-1min min delay before both measurements was done.
105-107 celsius (drop down from 115 when thermostate open) on gauge
988 ohm on the sensor (the one in front)
187 ohm on the sender (the one in the back to the gauge)
I cant find the ohm chart for the sender but the ohm on the sensor should indicate ok temperature? But why is it so hard to find the chart for the sender? I think i did find it in a online manual i got access to for a short time two years ago, i think it was ondemand5.com so if someone have access to that and could find the sender ohm chart i would have been happy.

This is for Renix, but the temperatur sender has this values
