Yes, the dealership wanted $385 + $100 installation for an ECU for my 2000 4.0 WJ and that's for a reman. One for a 4.7 costs more.

I just ordered one from allcomputerresourses.com programmed with my VIN, Software Upgrade, SKIM dormant, and overnight shipping for $252. No core required.

....Just empty every pocket. My cardone rebuilt pcm was about a buck at Advanced. Of course, no skim and vin to enter on the 96-97. Just plug n play as they say. Even credited me the old core which I mangled trying to repair.
Having someone else do the work, esp the stealer, is going to cost you, big.

i think we're on it for about 1200, and if we need an ECU they said if we buy it, they will install for free because it's taken soooo long to figure out the problem. Not even sure if new ECU is the solution.
if it does get fixed, it's for sale. Had to get another Jeep cuz it's was difficult being a one car family.
