Default Rust

These are rust spots I found on my 1997 ZJ. I am going to want to eventually fix them. This one above is of the front drivers window, pulling back on the weather lining. It is not too bad right here. This is the bad one. It is above the rear passenger door on the drivers side if the Jeep.
A closer straight-on view of the rear drivers side window. The rest of the windows are okay.
This passenger side hood is fine. Below is the other side with some rust. The protective layering was not tacked in place on it like it is here above.

Wow! Not good.

BTW, I found out that underhood blanket's function is to suppress sound, not for insulation of any kind. With it, snow will not melt off the hood as quickly as it does without it, but it's major reason for being there is sound suppression. It may protect the paint from engine heat, but I usually remove mine on my cars when it starts to droop.

Rust is wierd. Strange how it picks only just some spots. The same identical spots on opposite ends and other sides they gets no rust...

I think it looks real good. It has better than two decades behind it now, and has a few minor issues about it. This passenger side review mirror is kind of funny. The add photo showed it at a distance when I was buying it.. the manager of the dealership didn't know, and he thought it was all rust below the mirror. I let him think that, since whatever this is just flakes up neatly. Much better than it being rusted. The sales guy and manager never collaborated about it either... I got to get this looking better and fixed, for my sanity is at stake!
It is some sort of expanding glue-foam maybe? Used to attach, or Re-attach the mirror, finished off with electrical tape. It is actually really sturdy. You cannot even tell by looking at it from any distance.. except, from up closer and from any other distances besides from very far away looking at the passenger side of the Jeep... I ussually cannot see it when I am standing, looking at the Jeep from the drivers side.

Two things to know about rust:
  1. It's never alone.
  2. It never sleeps.
