So... My rear shock mount just broke!
I wish i had a pic of the hill I was climbing when it happened but, it wasnt anything cool like that.
I noticed a grinding sound when turning left, so when I parked in the parking lot and started checking things, I noticed that the frame mount rear shock bolt and nut were loose.
Dummy me though he could tighten it. And of course it snapped right off.
What are my options? Should i just cut one from a JY donor and weld in?
Any help is very appreciated. Right now its held on with a ratchet strap.
The worst part is, i have to daily drive this.

Unless someone tells me otherwise, IRO has a rear shock frame pin eliminator/relocator.
The best part.... $30!

Sounds good to me! My Chevy trucks had a replacement bolt that just had a nut on the back side. They would loosen up and tear thru the frame rail and the replacement one had washers that covered the hole and a longer stud.

So I just ordered these parts. 2 day shipping was $21 for less than a pound of hardened steel! WTF!
So a little help is appreciated. Where would be the best location to mount these new brackets?
Plans for upgraded coil springs/shocks, eventually.
Most important... 4in lift and 33's mounted soon. 1.25' spacers.
Again, any help on best location to mount these, it will be greatly appreciated.

Well, im still rolling around with the ratchet strapped Shock, because IRO shipped my parts very quickly, but the Grade 10 bolt included is the wrong size! WTF!
So I immediately emailed Customer Service, on Friday, to tell them about what has happened. So now its Monday, and I still havent heard from them.
I'll be picking up some correct bolts from the hardware store in the next couple days, because I dont know when they will be contacting, or how long it will take them to ship me new bolts.
Is it important that these bolts be grade 10? They are just the shock mount friction bolt, and the IRO kit came with a bolt sleeve. Theres not really that much weight to them is there?
Thanks

They take a pounding and I wouldn't use anything LESS than a grade 8. You can get grade 10 or 12 at an industrial supply house. They sell them by the pound, so just a couple are cheap. Make sure you buy matching nuts if you need them.

So about an hour after my last post, I get a reply from IRO.
"I just got your email. Did you get new bolts yet?"
I am very un-impressed with the customer service, which I have heard great things about.

Old thread, never resolved. The brackets I bought are bar-pin eliminators, and are for the axle side of the shock, not the frame side.
....I still haven't fixed this, but I also haven't driven it. I will eventually cut the hole in the frame, weld a plate, send a bolt all the way through.
