soaking wet floor how to fix question
Hello everyone,
I have the passanger floor thats soaking wet (actually once i get it fixed i need to clean the floor from mold).
Anyways I've seen videos online where they pull back the carpet and drill a hole at a spot if ones not there and then use a hanger or something to clean it out and then use compressed air to further clean it out and then plug the hole.
Thats all good and dany except where the videos show I have some stuff sitting there already. I could be wrong but I think its the year of hte jeep and I could still just drill a hole in the center but I don't want to f up my jeep if I am not sure.
I'll attach a few pictures. There is no condensation drain line inside the engine compartment I guess on this year it goes down from there to somewhere on the bottom of the jeeps body.

You may want to post this question in the GC section.
It's better to locate and repair the water leak (windshield, door, etc) instead of just randomly drilling holes through the body.

Do you run your a/c a lot? I remember having a similar problem in the summer time and cleaned out the condensation drain. It had spiders and stuff in it. When I pulled the elbow off (where it was plugged), water poured out into my driveway for like 10 seconds. Solved the problem.

clutch has likely identified the problem. Even in winter, the A/c comes on when the Defrost is selected.
I would look first at the cheap, free option of cleaning the drain line at the firewall.

93-95 Grand Cherokees have the HVAC drain dumping right into the frame rail. There is no cleaning it out from the engine bay. You have to drill a hole in the drain from inside the cabin and poke around with a coat hanger or wire, then you plug the hole with a screw.

RGS, it is either your heater core or ac evap.
Clean the ac first, then move onto testing your heater core.
There are write-ups on both on CF.

Yes I believe its the ac line being clogged.
On the videos and such right at that spot they drilled a whole into the plastic piece to use a wire, hanger, etc to clean it out and then put a cap or plug in it.
But in none of the video's does it show that piece being there, but to be fair most of them was on the newer ones 97+ that also had the line in the engine compartment as well.
I saw a video that had that part and they took it off after removing some stuff in the dash and such and it has a tube giogn t the drain but they wasn't replacing or trying to drain their line it was something else.
So what I was wondering is if anyone thought it would be safe to drill right into the back of it (already looks like you can see where the hole should be) instead of taking it off, otherwise anytime is clogs I have to remove the hole thing where if I drill a hole and plug it anytime I can just remove the plug and clean it out.
I might see if I can remove it anyways and go from there and see if what I am thinking is right if no one can really confirm it for sure.

clean it out with a coat hanger, and then put a few o-rings on the drain, on the outsidside... this has stopped the condensation from coming back in for my customers before... also a little silicone around the drain to body connection won't hurt either.

Hello,
I hope to get to this sunday but metalbreakdown I can't access any part of it because its in the frame which is why to unclog it I have to start in the cabin of the jeep.
Just curious how would I know if its the heater core? I still think its the ac drainage issue since the more I use the ac the more water accumulates on the floor of the jeep.

Old fart with a wrench
From your pics, it seems to be clear water, not coolant. You can try what my Grandad used to do, dip your finger in it and taste it! Yeah, he was a bit crazy.
There is one other place it could be leaking. There is a seal where the air plenum is bolted to the firewall and that could be leaking. Don't get that deeply involved until you make sure your drain is clear.
