Strange misfire happening occasionally
I have a 2006 GRAND Cherokee 3.7L and have a misfire that I can’t figure out. The misfire only happens after I have driven for a while, stopped, turned off car and then turned back on. If I leave the car turned off for a long period of time (couple hours), it will start and run fine with no misfire.
I took it to my local dealership and they weren’t 100% sure what the cause was but guessed since it was so sporadic that it was a bad ECM. I ordered a refurbed ECM and installed but the issue remains.
Also when the misfiring starts, it seems to happen at the higher RPMs right before it changes gears.
Any help would be much appreciated as I don’t know where to go from here and don’t want to give up on my Jeep.
Check Engine code is P0305
