Tires choice
Ok guys td i went to price out my tires im looking at a 31x10.5R15 tire.
1- Firestone destination a/t = $147
2- Cooper discoverer atr = $139
3- General grabber at2 = $152
All these choices are tires mounted and balanced .. Now my question is whats the best tire for on-road and off-road from these tires.

General Grabber. They used to suck, but in recent years have really turned their company around.
The Destination is such a bland tire, it'll work for you, but you'll be wishing you got the Grabbers. The Coopers aren't bad either. For the price though, (I sell tires) the Generals are a deal. That's not much over cost.

There are a bunch of other brands that are way better but the price rises into the $180+ per tire range such as Goodyears, BFGoodrich, Mickey Thompsons, Pro Comps and a few others. It's hard to find a great tire that does everything well for a low price. Most times, some compromises will have to be made. It's just a matter of what you can live with and/or without.

Discover sucks. My grandmother would complain about those. Hell most of that list I wouldn't be happy with. If that's your price range then honestly you would be better off with a Uniroyal brand tire then those.

Uniroyal tires are cheap...I personally wouldnt reccomend them, I never felt like I had much traction when driving in the snow when I drove a car with Uniroyals on them...And I have to disagree about the Coopers being junk. They work fine for me off-road and on road, they're quite and I get pretty good grip with them when im driving in the snow or any other surface, but if it was my reccomendation out of all the tires get the Grabbers if they're the only thing avaible but if they're not then get BfGoodrich ATR KO's.

I have 235/75/15 grabber at2 and in that size they r only load c LT tires which makes it ride like a pick-up, very rough on highway. I love them and they would be the only tire id ever buy if my size came in something other then 6ply. Tuesday ill be getting general grabber hts on the heap. Im more about ride quality i guess theres days. not to worried about off roading with them, seeing how when i bougt my jeep it had Bald tires and i didnt even get stuck with them.
