I hear ya brotha. I got a call into the O'Reillis auto parts and plan on picking up that part. I've replaced it once before on my 2000 and with any luck my wholesale guy there Izzy will warranty it. You see part of the reason I chose to buy the same kinda truck 4.7. Was not only to tow my rig but also because I replaced so many parts on my 2000 Limited (you know the one with 310K) that some of those parts are lifetime warranty and since I occasionally pick up lunches for Izzy if he can he does. I've read that each O'Reillis locations (do you guys have those by you?) does over a Billion $ in biz a year! Its the least they can do is honor their customers purchases

I hear ya on the making sure the system is empty and yes no cool air so I surmise its nada. I got a call into Juan too he said pick up the hose installed it and come back over I'll fill it for you. I'm hoping since I already spent the $70 bucks once this one may be gratis but ?

Again thanks for the tips. Enjoy your day FBone. You're the best!!

See where your hood strut is in the first picture? Now look under the black plastic to the right of it.

Hey John/Fishbones whats doing guys?

Thanks for pointing it out I'll take a look as soon as possible.

Mo its been very hectic here for me. Last night we had a major storm come through that provided us with flash floods and no power for 16 hrs...

That was bad. Friggin sump pump was running and as a result when I surfaced had 3' of water in the basement #@%$%bullchit.. All day work work work not he kind you get paid for either but the kind that costs you money. What can you do seems like this climate isn't what it used to be. Wish I could afford one of those gas generators for $6k the ones that are installed right to your circuit breakers and control the house auto. That would be sweet!!

Instead of having to borrow my buddys Kenny like I did today and then proceeded to accidentally break my double pane window for a hondo repair, not to mention it takes two weeks so I had to board it up. Gave new meaning to the term when it rains it pours!! Ugh that sssssssucked!

On a brighter note. Nicholas played well at baseball tonight and got awarded his 1st game ball. He was so proud it temporarily made me forget some of my troubles.

His communion was really cool too. I'm to tired to post a photo but maybe next time.

Btw Guys I got a flier in the mail if you guys want to try some LouMalnatis deep dish Chicago style pizza, they'll ship it out reasonably too. Let me know I'll take a photo of it and posted here for you guys to view. I'm going to retire now, I'm beat. Later men.

Hey, Peter. This thread is starting to look like a Twitter page. We really have gotten off the subject, not that it hasn't been interesting. I just wonder when the moderators are going to tell you to take it to the "off topic" section.

Good morning Dave. How have you been guy? I trust to find you well. Thank you, I'm glad you have enjoyed the journey.

Nicholas's 1st game ball was especially close to my heart and thought to share with John and Fishbone as he coaches baseball too. As for twiter, FB and whichever other ones are out there. I don't do any of those. I do enjoy the auto forums as I like to learn about cars and in particular my WJ.

While its true that some of my latest repairs are not on the same subject topic as the Tire Sensors Tech Support. I still have not been able to adjust, reset my Evic "Service tire sensor system" ? Any ideas or suggestions to doing so Dave? FBoner suggested removing the tire sensors altogether as he prefers doing it manually yet I spent money on them and would rather somehow reset the system it so I don't have the EVIC reading as it does on that 1st page photo? Still searching for help on that...

I've had a few other problems and questions and have chosen to post them on this thread as apposed to having 4/5 different threads. As relates to your comment Dave perhaps thinking back I should have done just that. Hey If you think it's best I do that, start separate threads Dave I will henceforth. I don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers especially the people that have helped me, yourself included. I hope I help to answer your concerns. Thank you. Enjoy your day.

Peter my friend, I think you are missing the point. I am not surprised about that as I suspect you are communications major. The point is that pictures of your fishing expeditions, girlfriends, your food, your son .......etc., don't really belong here. I believe what Dave1123 is suggesting is that you should take that stuff to the "off topic" section. Folks are coming on this Grand Cherokee Tech section to exchange advise on how to repair their vehicles not how to order Chicago deep dish pizza. Please take no offense Peter as your adventures are truly delightful.

BTW - You can hook up any gas generator to your circuit panel. If you pay for my flight out and back, plus a good meal and you buy the generator, I'll hook it up for about $2K.

Good one. Communications major! Yeah right. Lol yes I have a MBA alright from the school of hard knocks

OK. Understood. I will do as suggested and start separate threads on all repair trouble shooting requests.

FishBone I fixed my AC today, replaced out that $50 pressure hose that was leaking. Finito! Only drawback is it's 40* tonight in Chicago! LOl. Guess I'll be ready when its 90* in a few days. Men this weather is horrible and so unpredictable

Replaced it out for the new one. I couldn't figure out where the extra seals they give you go?? I guess they're just extra in case the ones that are on there are dried out or maybe you may need them down the road?

Btw Yes, I'm looking into the generator bit. I'm happy to have you as a guest anytime guys, four drink minimum too after this still clean up though. It's a big chore alright. I'm predicting I won't allow it to happen again. I don't have that kinda $cratch to swing it now but definitely the way to go. I will make do with what I can to always have at least that sump & fridges ON during storm power outages even if its extension cords to a gas powered one!! In the market for a pre owned 5500 if you happen to know of one, you get a birdie.

Couple other things as pertains to my initial subject post:

Anybody know? How do you reset the EVIC to accept the new tire sensor? I've done the donut bit and still it says what it says (see 1st page to view photo) ? I press CT and its fine back to compass. Pressure reading is correct as Evic displays. Just need resets?

Secondly, John I saw what your referring to. This right?

Odd thing is Jeep doesn't have a replacement filter part number for it??

Parts tech at Mopar Jeep claimed it was aftermarket Chrysler part. Want to hear the worst part? you guessed it, they are very proud of their replacement filter at $78!! Looks easy enough to change but $78 plus shipping is ridiculous!! Then again they have you by the guinones, its probably all wet n moldie so you either replace it or keep smelling old oil rags odor!!

OK guys take it easy. Third period of the Bruins Canadian game is about to start and I'm rooting for Canadians on this one and LA on the second game tonight. Enjoy your evening and as always thank you for all your help.

If it's just the filter that's crappy, why not run without it. Just put a widow screen over the hole. None of my Chrysler vehicles had a cabin air filter. I've owned 2 Caravans and 2 Jeeps. The only time I had a problem was running thru construction with a lot of dust and some came inside because the A/C was on. I went to recirc.

Fishbone I'm going to start a separate post on that blend door repair project but I had a quick question since you have done this prior.

Will I also be needing one of the Actuator motors as well? I know it's hard to say until I get into it but curious? As you know there are several and 2 at the glove box ?

What do you think about this?

Thank you bud. Enjoy your evening...

PS. Had combination fried rice last night and being the considerate man my parents raised me to be. I listened to you guys and did not photo post

You don't have the filter anyway Peter. I posted a link from ebay on a listing for the kit. It's $58 and replacement charcoal filters are $20.

Hi John. Oh isn't it that black area strip under the molding? I thought that was it? I haven't taken it apart to investigate yet. But you can tell ha? OK well that solves that I guess?

Weird. I wonder what that strange odor is?

What have you been doing anything exciting?

Thank you.

The filter would stick out and almost touch the lip of the firewall with a black cover over it. You would be able to see a white filter. There might be leaves and gunk in there though.
Search "2004 grand cherokee cabin air filter" on google images.

No Peter I do not believe you have to change out the actuators. When you ran the codes on the heating/cooling system you did not get any of those codes.

`

OhYeah, thats true isn't it? Forgot about that

Well, FBone I received that kit, basically it had two doors with foam on them, 1 aluminum and another plastic one. Two nipples (yeahbaby! lol) looking plastics which I assume go on the door bottoms, some repair tape for the cut and cleaning alcohol for the plastic. Interesting KIT for $88 isn't it? What a rip off they don't even include the actuator which alone they want another $70 for

Anyways I'm not going to talk about this here anymore. Doing a new thread "How to rid of your Squirrel Noises. Blendoor Repair" Pics...

Now to figure out what to have for dinner tonight. Maybe just a basic ham sandwich might be in order
