I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.7L Hemi, it's got about 136,000 miles. So I'm pretty sure the issue is my transfer case because my traction control goes on and off, in and out of 4-wheel drive, and when I turn it sounds and feels like grinding in the front axle area. I could be wrong because I'm definitely not a mechanic, so let me know if you guys think different. Anyway...transfer cases are really expensive, but the motors aren't. How do I know if it's the whole case or just the motor? Do I have to tear everything apart to figure it out?
