Hello, I've got an '07 Grand Cherokee with the 4x4 V6 3.7, and recently it has been acting up in a bad way. It is essentially sputtering, choking it's self out by adding to much fuel and not enough air from what we can gather, dying at a light or just chugging while pulling away from the stop, and it sounds like misfiring but I'm not an expert.

Here's a short list of things we've done to try and fix it.

• Full oil change.
• The mechanic tried changing the fuel injectors for 3 of the cylinders since they were the ones giving codes originally. This worked for maybe a few days.
• Then he tried a new intake. This worked for maybe a week.
• New spark plugs. Done with oil change.
• New MAP sensor (today).
• New fuel injector wires(I think only for the 3).
• NEw Air filter (this worked for about a day before it started getting bad again).

IVe also observed that it only starts doing it bad after it's warmed up. The mechanic we've been working with thinks it's the computer to the jeep it's self causing the problem, but he's also observed that the computer has been changed since it doesn't match the VIN on the jeep. He said that a new one would cost upwards of $1400, which is money I don't have. Said possibly going to a junk yard to find another Cherokee with the same set up we might be able to get the computer from one of those and reprogram it to our jeep, but he said that's something he can't do (so why would we buy a $1400 one if he doesn't know how to program it?).

Right now the plan is to take it to the dealership and see what they think on the 30th. We've easily sunk just as much as we've paid for it originally into it.

Any ideas help, especially if it's something y'all think a novice can do on their own. Thanks.
