Weird Brake Issue

Old fart with a wrench
First, IMO the master cylinder is at fault. When they start to go, you'll get a good pedal but it will fade while you're holding it like at a traffic light. The main reason you shouldn't use copper for brake lines is because or metal fatique. Copper turns brittle after a while. The NTSB made it illegal to use copper in brake and fuel lines years ago because of the fatique factor. ALSO, because brake fliud is hydroscopic you should change the fliud and bleed the brakes once in a while, which nobody does.
