All, every, 100% of every ZJ produced came with coils at all corners. There are people that have converted them to leafs, but they're few and far between. Not even foreign ZJ's were leaf sprung in the rear.
To the OP, I'm running 35's on a Grand. It takes money and fab skills to successfully run 35's and actually wheel it without carnage. Anyone can slap 35's on a ZJ to look cool at the local high school.
My current setup includes an HP30 regeared to 3.73, larger 760x u-joint shafts, OTK steering, Ford 8.8 rear geared to 4.56 w/ Detroit locker in the garage awaiting front 4.56 gears, adj SA's all around, 5.5" of lift, hefty dose of BFH and sawzall, alot of hard work and cursing, and money...

So I am looking for advice on what kind of lift i should get to make it great off road and on. Any advice is appreciated thanks.
I got 33s and my mpg is horrible lol
It's not worth the money if you don't use it off road much
I'm going 35s soon

As most said 35's will get very expensive...I've ran 33's on my zj with no lift but rubbed pretty bad...i now have a 2" bb with the 33's, no sway bars and like it a quite a bit...its a 4.0 auto with full time 4wd and i get around 14-15mpg...its a little sluggish but not to bad...my setup is mainly for winter and mud...thats why i have little lift and bigger tires, i was mainly looking for axle clearance...something thats stable and has low center of gravity so i dont have to worry to much about the wife driving it with my 2 yr old...you said its your dd and your not looking to rock crawl or anything....so the question you need to ask yourself is do you really NEED 35's for what your gonna use you jeep for? I know its cool to have big tires, but it gets quite expensive on a DD.

To the OP if you still want to DD you grand 33's would be a lot better for the mpg's and is still very capable offroad.
