Wheel lock nuts

This is a true thing you have said! 'Course I've never lived where you had to worry about them stealing your wheels. The whole car? YES! They'll take it to a chop-shop or ship it overseas.

LOL Dave, the only set of wheels I ever had stolen was a brand new set of four aluminum racing mags with four brand new goodyear tires I bought that morning. I brought them home in my pickup and was going to put them on my 69 Charger the next day when I finished putting the transmission back in it. I had them stacked beside the car and when I walked outside that morning the first thing I didn't see was my four mags and tires. I didn't even bother calling the cops, what was the point? I was just happy they left the 1500 dollar racing transmission.

12 years in the business and I've only had one car have the wheels stolen off of them and it was a Prius of all things. The External splined locking nuts are probably the "strongest" in terms of their ability to not strip out, The internal splined (usually found on VW and Audi) are next, all of the other locking nuts that use a line pattern are generally garbage but are usually the most common. Either way if you have stock Jeep wheels that are older than 5 years old and live anywhere with moisture chances are your rims are already starting to corrode to the point where no one would ever want to steal them any way.

both my tj's had locking nuts and my vw has them.
the only time i've heard of wheels getting stolen was a friend who owned a bunch of car rental outlets, had a new jeep wk on the lot and someone stole the wheels. didn't notice right away till the lot kid went out to bring it in to get it ready to out. he even got in to drive it up when it didn't move. lol.
he had to go to the other lots he owned to get a few spares from the other wk's so he could get some wheels on it.
