Wiring in driver's side door
So my 04 Grand Cherokee runs pretty well, but over the past few months the power locks and windows have slowly been dying in my driver's side door and now it's not working at all. This may seem like a little thing but since the window lock is on that side too so none of the power windows work now (making drive-thrus and ATMs annoying). I'm assuming some wiring going to the door is cracked or split.
Is there anything I can do to fix it or should I take it to an auto wiring specialist? I don't have much experience in auto wiring outside of putting in a stereo.
Any help would be appreciated!

There's been a lot of folks on here that have been plagued with this issue. Turns out it's the wires in the rubber sock in the door jamb being bent/cracked from all the openings of that door.
Here's an excerpt, posted by CdnJeeper on 1-23-'11, from one of those threads.
"My passenger window and doors locks didnt work on 91 cherokee. The problem was the wires between the drivers door going into the cabin.
Open the door, remove the rubber boot and inspect the wires.. below is how mine looked, I was amazed how many wires were broken. It has since been repaired and everything works, including the window lock".

Sure, you could replace the damaged part of each wire, one wire at a time, with a piece of new wire & butt connectors covered with shrink wrap. Or use solder instead of the butt connectors. If careful, you can do the repair to the wires in the door jamb without removing anything except the rubber sock.
