WJ '99 4.7L Airbag light on when I turn left, on wet days
Hello,
Recently, after it rains hard, my airbag light turns on when I turn left. After a bit it goes back to normal, only to turn on again , when I turn left again.
I though it could be the clockspring, but oddly enough, the problem tends to stop after some days, I guess after the humidity/water goes away from wherever it is causing a short.
I suspect it has to do with water infiltration interfering with the electrics because sometimes (although more rarely), the side blinkers also stop working in the same conditions, but usually when moisture goes together with freezing cold. And, after the car gets warm, they start working again.
Could all this be related to the cabin fuse box?
I am mentioning this because once (and only after torrential rain) I found the driver side floor wet, so I worry there might be water finding its way somehow.
Any advice on what to check and where to seal is welcome.
Thank you,
Clement
Any advice on how I should proceed

Somehow, the airbag light is not going off so much recently, but the blinkers stopped working again, then after a week of dry weather they started working again, and now, after rain, they stopped.
I believe the water might be coming in from the side of the windshield.
What's the best way to fix that?
I've hears silicone should be avoided because it expands and contracts depending of weather.
Also, is there any electrical component, apart for the 10amp fuse, related to the blinkers?
And what about the airbag light?
Thank you

Take it to a windshield shop and have them remove and replace the windshield. The seal comes from the urethane glue they use to hold the glass in place, not from the rubber trim around the window. That's purely cosmetic. If it's leaking through the windshield, either the metal frame has a rust hole (hidden behind that rubber trim) or your urethane has failed, and there is no other way to seal it up.

Yes, today's windshields are glued in to contain the airbag in a collision and after a number of years, they can lose their seal. When I had the one in my WJ replaced from being broken by a tree branch, the installer told me not to put the windows up tight for 6 hours after I picked it up so the urethane could cure.

Thank you all for the info.
It took me a bit longer than initially planned, anyhow, I changed both the blinker relay, as well as the clock spring ($15 for both at my local junkyard, luckily they had a WJ that hadn't been too long on the streets) and the issues are now gone.
As an extra precaution, I also caulked urethane on the sides of the windshield, after removing the trimming. The original application holding it it to the frame looked solid. No water in for now.
Hopefully I'll be fine, at least this winter, hopefully more
