Both the ABS and BRAKE light are on in my 99 WJ. I hooked up an OBD scanner that'll read the ABS module and three codes popped up: 06, 08, and 12. 06 is "Left Rear Wheel Speed/ Signal Failure", 08 is the exact same, except for the rear right, and 12 just reads: "Incorrect Tone Wheel". What are the odds that both rear sensors went out at the same time? The jeep sat for about 8 years until I bought it in April of 2019, which the light has been on ever since.

I'm not entirely too sure how to start tackling this situation, is there a way I can test each wheel speed sensor? and how do I know which tone ring is incorrect? Also, my speedometer is not wanting to work at speeds less than 15 mph, transmission has a new output speed sensor so that is ruled out. Any advice is greatly appreciated, as I am super eager to get this Jeep back on the road.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the tone wheel code has to do with a front wheel tone ring that's rusted and can't be read. I got the same 3 codes on my 2000 and after cleaning the tone rings and replacing both rear sensors, it still didn't work. ABS is not required on NY State inspections so my light has a piece of black electrical tape over it for 6 years now.

If you know someone with a DRB scan tool, they may be able to get you some more info on it.
