WJ Infinity Tweeter Repair
So I install a Kenwood deck in my WJ, I bump it up and both my tweeters start crackling, which means It's time for a replacement. But I'm broke!
There you can see the damage.
This is how I fixed them, first, I installed a bass blocker, now you can buy one for about $10, or make your own for about $1.30.
First remove the trim to get to the Tweeters.
Instructions on how to do that can be found by clicking on this link.

As far as building the bass blocker, this is what you need.
I took the leads, and cut them a bit, and folded them, so it looks like this.
Then I crimped them into the green Tweeter wire, which is the positive. Like this.
The capacitor is non polar, so it doesn't matter which way you put it. You can solder it instead of crimping it and then shrink wrap it. My soldering iron went out, so this was the alternative and it worked just fine.
Next is to get some latex glue, and glue the surround of the tweeter, let it cure for a day, and everything should be peachy.
I haven't glued the surround yet, but It sounds great, when I actually fix the damage on the tweeters, I bet it will sound even better.
