Default WJ trim clips

Hey all, I went searching today looking for the proper trim clips for my 99 WJ. Well, I found squat that was helpful. Last week I found a post, somewhere (maybe at another forum) at mentioned at there were 3 different types of clips used in these. I can't find it again.

So my thought is to make a new thread so that someone doing a search on this will be able to find something useful more easily.

Here are my questions: 1. Would anyone know the part numbers for any of these clips, and 2. What about the grommets?

If someone's got useful info I'm all ears!

Dorman makes & markets packs("Help" brand) and assortments of clips, trim fasteners, screws, grommets, etc ("Dorman") plus all sorts of solutions.

Perhaps they do. But with results like this :http://www.dormanproducts.com/gsearc...=YMM&q=Grommet

...searching is none too useful. Yes I provided feedback. Using search term "trim" instead of "grommet" yielded 0 results.

I actually hoped to make this an informative thread so that not just myself, but others might have a little ammunition when faced with 50 different types of clip and no grommets to have an idea what they should be looking for.

I'd take a good fastener with you to the auto parts store to match up with the aftermarket ones. The other thing you could do is head to your local Pick-'n'-Pull (self-service junkyard) and take off the panels of a vehicle there, along with some good fasteners. That way you'll have the factory fasteners. My Pick-'n'-Pull doesn't charge extra for 'em as long as you get the part, and I wouldn't think that they'd charge much for 'em if you just buy them and nothing else.

I needed to push-pin fasteners for the bottom of the front fascia and went to a dealer parts dept who looked them up on their computer. It took all of about 5 minutes. They were a touch expensive though.

Interior trim clips?
All the exterior push-in / push-pin fasteners can often be found at NAPA and even ACE hardware.
