A few months ago I bought a friend's 96 ZJ and the F/P is making plenty of whining noise. He also gave me a new in the box complete unit. Its a Drivemotive REPJ314509. My question is about the fuel pickup area. I assumed it would use a sock for a filter but it has a strainer at the bottom of the plastic body that snaps in basically. When it is out I see a opening into the pump I assume?? But I also see that material strainer sock inside the plastic body. In my mind I thinking I dont see how the fuel path can get thru that strainer. Honestly the pump looks like a low quality China special, but so do most of the ones I see on Rockauto or Oreileys, where it came from, as they all look alike. Is this worth installing of are the Delphi or?? the way to go. TIA

Pulled the tank yesterday. F/P #3 going in today, and the one I pulled is the same brand that's going back in. Maybe Jeep should have Toyota start making their pumps, 300K+ on the 4ruuner, 473K on the Tundra and OEM pumps are still going strong.
