I think it was in 1978 I bought a 1966 chevy half ton short wide bed out of a cow pasture for 200 collars. I spent a year doing a frame off restoration and upgraded the engine from a 6 cylinder with 3 speed Saginaw to a 350 v8 and a granny gear truck four speed while I was at it. I painted it aqua marine blue and fitted it with nice shiny chrome mags and it was beautiful when I got finished with it. I drove that ruck as my daily driver for almost twenty years swapping in s new engine every five or six years.

When my nephew graduated high school his dad was having pretty bad health problems and couldn't help him get a vehicle to get started inlife so I gave him the 66 as a graduation present. He rolled it ab out two or three weeks later and totaled It out. I sure miss that old chevy, it was hands down the best and most reliable vehicle I ever owned.
