02 Chevy Trailblazer engine light
Truck is my moms. Its got about 160k on it. She told me the check engine light came on for a few days and then went off. I took it to the parts store to have the code read and it was the cam position sensor. The light hasnt come back on, so can I just take it as a fluke one time thing? Money is tight so if I dont need to replace it right now that would be great.

I'd start gathering the parts and the money.
It maybe a one time incident but experience tells me it's the start and your on borrowed time till that sensor fails completely and leaves your mother stranded.

I'd find the sensor and very carefully inspect and clean the plug connection. Otherwise, It's obviously still working. Unless you can find the specs of the sensor output and check them with an o-scope or at minimum a multimeter to prove it's actually failing, changing it is probably a waste.

That I don't. The Autozone site has links if you register that may show how to change it, though. That might give you a starting point.

This is a somewhat common problem, if that was the only code, I would replace the cam sensor. It is located at the front of engine just under the plastic valve cover and toward the corner on the passenger side. You should be able to replace it cheap and nothing else has to be removed, it only takes a couple minutes.
