To the black challenger owner, is your car the one they used for the advertisements for hemi car?
Also did the owner of the Challenger realize your firechicken was racing him?
Yes but how many people go "wow look a f body" a stock lame year 2008 SRT Challenger (even other challenger owners will agree they are lame) will run 13.5 all day. Yes that stock and the slowest of the SRT v8 cars. Now add a guy that doesn't know how to drive in it (or possibly didn't want to beat his car too hard) and yes you won.

You SRT guys always look so confused when looking the tail lights of a 7klb truck .

I have 2 SRT's... an '06 Charger SRT8 and an '08 Caliber SRT4.
What people dont realize about the SRT that sets them apart from other performance vehicles is that they are built to be run max all the time. All the way down to forged internals, internal oil squirters aimed at pistons, FUNCTIONAL ducts, forged wheels. The SRT team holds internet forum discussions monthly on enthusiast sites for feedback and when you ask them questions like "Why do my brakes squeek" they come back with answers like "Its a performance car, drive it harder and it'll stop" Try that with Ford or Chevy. They will tell you to bring it in for service and try and kill you there.
SRT has a "SRT driving experience" that comes with you car where you go to a track and beat the hell out of their cars all day on road course, auto cross, and others. Stock cars, not limited at all, and the only rule is dont turn off traction control.
Another thing that hurts SRTs image from non-owners (and some owners) is they learn your driving style. If I dont drive mine for a while and my wife does when I get back in its a much slower car. A new one on the lot is not as fast as it will be when someone buys it and uses it as a toy.
Plus, plugging in a diablo tuner and just using the pre-programmed tunes will net you about 40hp at the wheels (real world numbers) If you do slight bolt on like mine. Cold air intake, maganflow exhaust, lower t-stat, reprogrammed fan settings, and a 93 octane tune and its a whole new beast.
No longer will a 94 formula keep up with you. In fact the most fun part of racing cars from that era is that you can let off untill they reach your rear bumper and get back on it and they still wont be able to pass you. Do this over and over again and they get quite frustrated.
The SRT4 is another experience all together. Rated at 285 but real world numbers are getting 285-305 at the wheels stock. FWD so its got so much torque steer it can rip you off the road if your not expecting it. They are also very moddable. You can easily get 350-400 wheel horse for under $1,000

I would still take the 1969 AMC AMX 401, over any of them. I went to high school in the early 70's. And the AMX was the only car that beat the 383/440 mopars. Along with the 1970 454 SS chevelles.
