Default Ash-Spec anyone?

I was working out in my gym and suddenly heard a sound so joyous I couldn't help but stop. I stood outside the door looking for what surely had to be a jet plane. I located the sound and a few bay doors down I saw a plethora of import tuners(all but one Nissan Z series). I only noticed this the other night and thought nothing of it. After driving over and waiting to see if I was welcome I was enlightened to what was going on. They were running a godly 300zx and dialing in the motor. Putting out 610+ HP, 650+ ft/lb torque, and 27+ lbs of boost. Halfway trough my visit I was introduced to the owner, Ash, Ash-Spec. It was quite the experience and they're great guys.

Those #'s suck for the amount of Boost he is pushing !

My brothers 92 Supra with a 1JZ GTE was putting down 656hp to the wheels with 18psi of boost on pumpgas , But his engine has been treated with Forged rods, pistons, knife edged crank, Cams, Ported/polished head 60:1 CT26 turbos, Full Blitz exhaust AEM fuel management, ECU, Huge injectors, All ARP Bolts and studs ......... The car is a sleeper also Last time he went to the track it ran 10.43 @ 146mph

That body kit on that silver ZX is too much. A Z32 is one of very few non classic vehicles that I wouldn't do a single cosmetic mod to.

And your numbers suck too, put that much boost into a SBC and its easily into 4 digit territory.

Apples to oranges there buddy

Yes but a SBC also has 2x the displacement. The Supra only has a 2.5L I6 !

Apples to oranges huh?

You just compared a SBC v8 to an I6 with about half of the displacement(and weight for that matter)

Those numbers are great considering he is using twin CT26 turbos(stock 7mGTE turbo x2) at moderate boost levels. And don't forget that the gas mileage is definitely better than that of a force induced SBC. Horsepower is highly subjective when in comes to Forced Induction. Way to many variables in the equation to say that a SBC will put XXXXwhp down at 18psi.

It was an analogy to him comparing one type of motor (idk whats in that 300 but assume v6) to an I6, architecture of a motor means alot when building HP. like a SBC beating out a SBF any day of the week for the past 40 years.

Didnt know i was upsetting so many ricers

Im not upset, nor am I a ricer..........just an auto enthusiast who has build everything from high compression 383 SBC to 500+whp DSM's. The 300zx is a 3.0 DOHC v6. The supra with a 1.5jzgte is a mix of 2jz and 1jz parts.

SBC vs SBF is a much better comparison unless the SBC is in a Fox Body ;-)
