You got that right. The rear has a high pressure area since there is a big opening below the engine. That is part of the reason why the deck lid has a very big opening in it.

No front wing! The GT wing is going on the back in place of the current one. The front end is done after the splitter. Look up "fun cup beetle" to get and idea. Thats what I am after.

That makes sense... Get it up into the air-stream where it can actually do some good.

Did I see a couple of those flipped up in the front to give the rear lift and push down on the front? Or were those broken? lol

I would hope they were broken! Lift in the rear would do no good.

Lol, I noticed it and had to ask. I thought so too.

While we are waiting for the splitter to show up, how about some older videos?

I love that top video! It's quick, but I can tell you are not even putting your foot in it yet. lol

That is foot to floor. But keep in mind, when I shift out of third, I am doing nearly 100 mph. So 5-100 mph is somewhere in the 7 second range. They just started to do Wednesday night 1/4 mile drags over here. $20 gets you like 5-6 passes down the track. I need to go!

Holy Cow! Man... I would try it at least once! Could you imagine dominating a drag class with that rig? I would have done this already... My curiosity would have pushed me to it right away! lol

It's weird how the video doesn't quite show how fast it really is going, just doesn't feel as fast as that based on that video.

I will go one of these days. Need to get my oil leak fixed first. Its leaking out of the bottom of the dipstick...

And ya, the Gopro does a good job of smoothing out the video and makes everything seem slower then it actually is. Completely different experience when you are in the car. I would get a video of the tach and speedo but it would be pointless. They cant keep up.

A dipstick is supposed to have oil on the bottom of it... lol

I know what you meant, sorry, couldn't help it. lol

Have you tried mounting your phone and getting a video with it instead? Might present a new perspective in how fast it really is going?

Haha I know you know what I mean!

I have had a couple friends try to take a video from the passenger seat. Does not work out very well. When I nail the throttle in first, the camera goes to the sky as they get sucked into the seat. Shift into 2nd and they level it back out. Hit 3rd and they are done recording and looking for something to hold on to. After the run, I ask them if they want to try it again and its always a no. Guess it scares some people. I always ask one of the guys who rents a room from me if he want to go with me to the store in the Bug and he says "sure as long as you dont get on it and drive like a normal person". Of course I tell him I wont and then I proceed to take him for the ride of his life. Its a blast! Does that make me a bad friend?

That's a hilarious description! No getting around the physics of mass and velocity. lol

No, you are using the tool as you designed it to be used. lol

I did something similar one time. I had a FAST 55 Chevy two door and took a friend for a ride because he was interested in buying it. I got on it a couple times and he said he wasn't that impressed. That's when I pulled the exhaust cutout cables and the wood block I had under the throttle peddle as a rev limiter.

He was absolutely white after the next run, funny considering he is originally from Guadalajara Mexico. "OK... I change my mind... I want it". Still a very good friend today and he still brings up that run in the 55 every time we talk. lol

Pretty sure this is it, but been awhile since I lived in WA state. Looks like it though. Did the 1/4 in 8.9 sec. And on a VW engine, slightly modified of course

Most interesting part is that it was owned by the Walla Walla High School shop teacher. It was the collective auto shop project. Kids who practiced on the dummy lights were allowed to drive it at the track

I think that would be pretty cool as a class project! Lucky kids!

Heck ya! That is awesome. Those air cooled engines still surprise me. Not sure if I would trust a kid going that fast in it though. I will be happy if mine runs mid 11s.
