My 2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude has the key stuck in the ignition because it will not turn into the off position so it just stays on and drains my battery so I bought a new battery and it did not fix it. So, now same problem. The key assembly was rebuilt about a year ago so I don't know if that would be the issue. It did this once before and I wiggled some wires under the dash to the left of steering wheel behind the little pull out storage compartment and everything clicked came on and out of the ignition and worked fine then a year later it happens again only this time I cannot get the key out of the ignition and I can't get it to turn to the off position when wiggling the wires. When this happened the car would start fine and I couldn't get it to turn off position but the car would turn off. Then I went to start it again a little while later and the car won't start or anything. I checked the battery and it is fully charged and works well. it's not making any noise of any kind when you try to turn it over it doesn't click or anything. I know that last time when the wires were wiggled everything came back on and was working perfectly. So whatever it is is making many things not work properly. Any suggestions? Please help I'm desperate.
