I like the grill on the 74 better. Can that be swapped to the orange one?

We had the smaller 60's scout when I lived on the farm. It had a grape spraying unit mounted to the bed. It was ALOT of fun running it through the woods. But the suspension was STIFF.... nowhere near as flexy as even a stock Cherokee suspension.

Didn't they have diesel engines in some scouts? That would be a neat one to find and drive.

Sweet!

I've definitely got a soft spot for the orange ones! Here's my current daily driver:

My dad, brother, and two brothers-in-law own scouts as well. It's quite a curse. Will be excited to watch your progress on the build!

Damn that looks clean. Very good choice sir, and the smoker's window is the icing IMO.

I had a 70 Scout 800.. 304 3 speed with some closed knuckle 44's. There is a Junk yard 10 minutes from my house that has 20-25 IH rigs in there.... bad thing is they were in just as bad of shape as mine.

Yes the scouts had a deisel.. it was a Nissan i-6 one. It was kinda rare, but truly a bad *** motor.

We actually have two scout IIs, both bodies are rust buckets. One is a '72 345 v8 auto 4x4 but it doesn't run. Its been setting for 25 years. The other is a '77 Nissan SD-33 diesel (non turbo) auto 2wd. That one still runs, but will smoke you out on a cold morning. They only made 10,xxx diesel scout IIs, with 1,038 in '77 being the fewest in the five years they made the diesels.
