that truck looks cool. but i think they should make a good ole down to earth pick up like they used to. nothing that looks like a concept truck, just a good modern version of a jeep pick up, mj and j-10 and 20's

Will someone please explain to me the motive with the 3.7 V6? I really dont understand why they went to the V6 instead of the inline6. The V6 gets horrible gas milage compared to the 4.0 and the 2.7 deisel. stock power is ok i guess but there are'nt really that many upgrades for it. If I'm wrong for some reason please correct me or give me another motive

That truck wont go into production it was an old concept i have seen it in person and it is pretty sweet. And yeah there are JK diesels motoring around detroit i have been behind a few all manufactor plates. If anyone buys jeep/chrysler it will most likly be fiat.

oh alright thanks, I forgot about emissions, however much I hate it. It just completely contradicts jeep's reputation for building reliable four wheel drives with decent power. Do you know if they still make the inline six as an upgrade or has it been outmoded? I'd like to replace mine with a new engine but i like the six and am not really turned on by the eight... We're getting a little off topic on this thread so just message me if you know anything

the emissions excuse is bs. 4.0 was not very bad on emissions. they're using that as an excuse for saving money by manufacturing less motors, and making a great reliabe engine obsolete.
why did they get rid of the xj? they'll make some bs excuse why the liberty was better.....is it?

F*** no its not. Besides the lack of low end torque, and lack of flex added to the short wheel base, it's not even a very comfortable vehicle to drive. Another reason they have talked about is the V6 being shorter than the straight six so they can shorten the front ends or even put more accessories in it, since the liberty is jeep's version of a "luxery" vehicle... Anyone know anthing about it?

The Liberty was built for one reason and one reason only to steal the market the Honda CRV had. Did it work yes. All of us Love the XJ. But to date the Liberty has sold more than all the years the XJ was built. Reason, yuppy buyers..

I think this is probly the closest we will get to the Gladiator. To bad its probly not coming to the US and seems to be military/government only. Still pretty cool though. Its says in the article that it can be configured in two door fashion with a pickup truck bed and Dana 60's.
