new wrangler.... what gas do i put in?
hey guys, i recently bought a 2011 wrangler unlimited (iloveit) and ive been wondering which gas to fill it up with. This is my first 0-milage car so i have no idea.... and i dont want to possibly mess it up or take away from its life by putting the wrong gas.

The thing is that apparently jeep/chrysler do not give an owners manual. and when i asked them why, they told me that i need to send chrysler and email and then it will take 4-5 months for them to ship me an owners manual... which is very stupid to me.... so until then i dont know what to use......

it dose if you live in a state with blended ethanol gas the higher octane the lower the ethanol content for the most part. around here I have 2 stations that sell corn free 93 so that's what i run in the hemi and the XJ. There is a big fuel mileage difference. on 87 i'm lucky to get 13-15mpg with the hemi with the 93 i run 18-19 on the same roads

I bet your XJs mileage on non ethanol 87 would be the same as your 93 non ethanol
All the stations around here it's 10% ethanol no matter what octane.
Also the more ethanol the higher the octane. E85 is a preffered fuel om the force inducted tunning realm because it has a higher knock point allowing for more aggressive timing to make more power.

I work for a Chrysler/jeep/dodge dealership. First off the ownersmanual is online so you don't have to wait for the printed one and it's got the 3.8 just run regular gas it's the old dodge caravan motor it needs nothing special.. Just IMO you should of held out for the 2012 it's going to get the new 3.6 litre pentastar engine makes 283 hp right out of the box
