Should I get? 78 CJ7!
So I was looking to sell my Arctic Cat snowmobile since I never get a chance to use it, and posted it on craigslist for trade..
Well I got a guy interested in trading his project 1978 CJ7 with a 360, full hard doors and hardtop and comes with a complete plow setup. He said it ran good, but needs a starter now, and the body is not pretty but the frame is still solid.. Also said it recently got a new alum. radiatior, waterpump, header back exhaust and newer 2" lift springs and shocks, and tires are decent.
I have next to nothing into the snowmobile since I got it as a trade, but need some advice from some CJ guys if a CJ noob should go through with it..
Thanks!

Man, I believe I would do it and scrap (sell) all the plow stuff. CJs are fun projects and are pretty straight froward. That one from what I can see is in pretty decent condition. Could be lots of fun!

One question I have for the CJ guys is this one has the Quadratrac system..
I have heard form a few people its not a great system, but would like some more input on it..
Also are they any easy swap in replacement T-Cases and axles? (on a college guy with 3 Jeep budget )
Thanks!

You should be able to replace it with a dana 20 or 300. I have a 20 in my cj5 and have had no problems with it, but if you could i would go with the 300 because it is stronger. For the rear end I would swap it for the 44 because I think you have the amc 20. I do like the 360 thats in it

I had a 79 w/304 auto quadratrac. I luv'd the 304 and the tubo 350 tranny, but, the vacuum controlled tranfer case was questionable
