It's got the 350 and right not it's getting rebuilt cause after 204,000 miles it gave up. I normally get around 7-8 mpg towing. Definitely a good old truck

Cool, thanks for the reply. Widened my options. Diesels are a little spendy still.

Yeah I wanted one for a while but I've got $2000 in suspension on mine so it does great. There great trucks

2 454 engines. Electric steering and throttle controls.

It tows my runners and boats fantastic.

Currently in the beginning stages of converting this 2wd 97 Ranger to a tow vehicle.

Plans;
302 V8 + manual trans
Ford 9" rear w/ disc conversion
D44 knuckle conversion up front
frame bracing
Explorer leafs bastard pack + air ride helpers
Class IV Receiver with weight distributing hitch.

Estimating it'll be good for 6600lbs legally.
